Lilian Opara is an accomplished Legal Practitioner with nearly two decades of post-Call experience at the Nigerian Bar and a distinguished career in Corporate and Microfinance banking. She brings 16 years of specialized experience in the Microfinance Banking sector and currently serves as the Head of Legal and Company Secretary at FINCA MFB, Nigeria.

Before joining FINCA MFB, Nigeria, she served as Company Secretary/Legal Adviser at Chikum Microfinance Bank Ltd from April 2010 to March 2021. Earlier in her career, she practiced law at D.C. Denwigwe (SAN) & Associates between 2008 and April 2010.

Lilian is a seasoned governance and legal professional with expertise spanning Negotiation, Company Law, Corporate Services, Regulatory Compliance, Administration, Human Resource Administration, and Process/Procedural development. Her depth of experience, strategic insight, and strong professional ethos have established her as a trusted advisor and a reliable source of guidance within the Microfinance Banking sector and beyond.

She holds an LL.B (Hons.) degree in Law from Imo State University and attended the Nigerian Law School, Lagos after which she was called to the Nigerian Bar. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), a Certified Microfinance Banker, and a registered professional with the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN).
